Long description
Lucky shoe wooden snuff box [.1], with a sliding wooden lid [.2] Decorated with incised designs and inlaid red and green pigment. The front of the shoe is decorated with an incised heart that is inlaid with green and red pigment. The body of the shoe is decorated with carved and incised triangular and linear designs. The detachable lid has a geometric design carved and incised into it and part of this is also inlaid with red and green pigment. The top of the shoe has 'runners' for the sliding lid. These have been secured in places with metal nails. [SM 20/01/2011]
