Long description
Lucky shoe. Decorated wood snuff box shaped like a boot, with hole in the top. Decorated with inlaid mother of pearl, wood and nailed linear patterns. The hole in the top is lined with paper that has a printed design of figures. The hole has inlaid 'runners' on either side where originally it would have had a sliding lid. The show is decorated all over with diamond shaped wooden inlay, that is surrounded by small nails, also in a diamond pattern. On the front of the shoe is an inlaid mother of pearl shell heart. The sole of the shoe is also decorated with small nails. [SM 20/01/2011]
