1906.20.166Elliptical shaped animal hide shield with central wooden supporting rod. The front of the shield has the remains of hair still on it. The wooden rod which also serves as a handle is threaded through six animal hide loops running down the centre of the reverse of the shield. There are a further two handles on the reverse made from bound animal hide. The front of the shield has rectangular cut-outs through which lengths of hide a passed through.
