Long description: Stone tool, cleaver. Made from a lump of ?quartzite grey stone. The rock has a wedge shaped end, with broad flat sides. These taper to a more rounded opposite end. A small rectangular paper label has been adhered to the stone's dorsal side. The label has crenelated edges and a red stripe. [LKG 08/03/2010]

Research and responses: Following communication with David Morris at the Kimberley museum it seems that this collection may have been sent to Henry Balfour for his opinion on them, since a previous collection had been sent to him. These items bear Kimberley museum accession numbers and that museum holds data relating to their source sites etc. [CRFW 3/9/2002]
