Long description
Clay incense burner painted with red and green patterns in the shape of a boat. The incense burner is made from clay and has been used. Three triangles have been painted on the bottom of the boat, two in red and one in green paint. Both sides of the boat have two rows of triangular holes. On one side there is a top row of nine triangles and a bottom row of eight, the other side has two rows of eight triangular holes. The triangles have been outlined with red and green paint alternatively. The two rows have been separated with horizontal painted lines in red and green. The bow and stern of the boat sticks out and have been painted red and green. There is a chip on the edge of the boat at one end. The centre of the boat has a triangular cabin decorated with rows of triangular holes on each side, outlined with red and green paint. Horizontal, diagonal and vertical incised lines painted in red and green separate the rows of triangular holes. The top of the cabin is square and painted green with an 'M' shaped top. The painted decoration is messy in places. [FC 05/11/2009]
