- Long description
- One woven strip of material, Hamjoe, which is wrapped and tied around the top of Tibetan felt boots. The band has been woven in cotton yarn. The design is that of multicoloured stripes on either side of a central pattern of narrow blue and white vertical lines intercepted with squares of short white and blue horizontal dashes. This central pattern is 11 mm wide. On either side of the central pattern are eleven coloured stripes in [from outer edge inwards] dark blue, green, yellow, mauve, light green, dark blue, orange, light blue, white, orange and light green. The weft threads at either end of the length of material have been kept long. The paper sleeve has printed writing in Chinese characters and numbers in red ink on both sides. [FC 21/10/2009]
