- Souvenir textile depicting the Taj Mahal. The object is roughly square and is made of a blue synthetic textile with a felted appearance. The front of the textile has an image of the Taj Mahal in Agra. This has been worked in metal chain, metallic thread, green thread, blue thread, yellow thread and round gold sequins. The image has stitched in metalic thread 'TAJMAHAL' accross the top and 'AGRA INDIA' along the bottom of the image. The image depicts the Taj Mahal with its many dome's. The windows of the Taj Mahal have been stitched with a green thread in the pattern of diamonds. On either side of the large dome of the Taj Mahal there are two crescent moons stitched in silver metalic thread. The left and right side of the Taj Mahal has been framed with the image of two leaves and a flower, stitched with metalic thread, green thread and round gold sequins. The Taj Mahal is sitting on a stretch of water, stitched with silver metalic thread containing six fish which have been stitched with green and blue thread and a plant of some kind. The remainder of the front of the textile has been decorated with chain stitch in gold thread. [FC 02/09/2009]
