Research and responses

This object was examined by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2009 with the Chamberlain Amulet collection. She noted that this may possibly be the story of Amaterasu, based on the first line of the book. However, the style of printing is difficult to read. [SM 16/07/2009]

This object was examined by Professor Itaru Chijiwa during his research visit in December 2010. He noted that this document tells the story of Amaterasu [SM 15/12/2010]

The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2012 as: “Taya-san Josen-ji Iwaya”, Cave of Josen-ji temple of Taya-san. See also 1908.82.703. [MJD 19/10/2012]
