- Man's cloth to be worn on the shoulder or hip. The cloth is one of a pair [see 2008.58.1 .1] to be worn together, one on the shoulder and one on the hip. The cloth is made up of two pieces of warp faced weave textile sewn together along the centre of the cloth. The two lengths of cloth have been stitched together with blue cotton yarn. The cloth has been woven with warp ikat. The central panel of the cloth has been woven with a brown/purple background and is ornamented with geometric designs worked in white with touches of red and blue. Working outwards from the central panel towards the ends of the cloth there is a band, on either side, of weaving on an orange/red background depicting eight ?birds worked in white and brown/purple. Outwards from these bands are two bands of weaving on a purple/brown background depicting eight ?roosters worked in white and red. Outwards from these bands are two bands of orange/red weaving with eight ?dragon figures worked in white and brown/purple. The warp threads have been left loose at both ends of the cloth to form a fringe. [MdeA 28/01/2009]
