Description
Belt.
Long description
Belt woven in cotton. The belt is woven with a warp faced weave with supplementary warp designs and some supplementary coloured weft threads. The warp threads are white, black and green. The belt is woven with geometric, bird and animal designs. The designs are worked predominantly in black and white with green, purple and blue supplementary weft threads. The belt is edged on both sides with a stripe of weaving with green yarn. On the reverse the belt is woven with black and white horizontal stripes and edged on both sides with a green stripe. The warp threads have been left long at both ends of the belt and plaited together. They are knotted at the ends of each of the two plaits. [MdeA 27/01/2009]
