- End scraper. On the dorsal face three flake scars are visible with retouch on the distal dorsal edge. The flint has a heavy greyish white patina on all surfaces and reddish orange iron staining. [MN 23/10/2008]

For centuries it was an estate village, centred on Mongewell Park, which since 1953 has been the home of Carmel College (now closed). In the college grounds a path leads to the ruined church beside the river where only the chancel and polygonal bell turret remain standing.
The site of Grim's Ditch a linear prehistoric earthwork [which passes by Mongewell] is recorded in the Oxfordshire Historic Environment Record [HER] under PRN 8900. The site is also a Scheduled Ancient Monument [monument number OX32]. [MN 23/10/2008]
