Long description
Woman's stole. Made from a single strip of warp faced weave textile. The textile has a central black stripe decorated at either end with supplementary weft designs in orange / yellow highlighted with gold yarn. One either side of the black stripe are three narrow green stripes (2 - 3 mm wide) and a broad yellow stripe 74 mm wide. The stole has black selvages. At both ends of the stole are three rows of yellow and green stitching. The warp threads have been left long and twisted in bunches and knotted at the end to form fringes. [MdeA 25/07/2008]
