- Neck ornament of plant seeds and a single green glass bead, strung on plant fibre string. Worn by young men during circumcision ceremonies. [MdeA 22/01/2008]
- Long description
- Neck ornament made of plant seeds and a single green glass bead. The necklet was previously broken in three places and there are two loose seeds. The seeds are white / grey in colour and the bead is bright green. The seeds have been perforated vertically through the centre and are strung end to end. The strings of seeds are worn by young men during circumcision ceremonies. Several strings of seeds are worn at the same time. The strings of are worn diagonally across the breast, going from the neck to under the arm, several strings going in one direction and several in the other. The necklet was restrung in February 2009 by Jeremy Uden, PRM Conservation. [MdeA 22/01/2008]
