Long description
Dagger [.1] with two edged tapering blade and fur covered handle, with leather sheath [.2] and leather belt [.3] The dagger blade is stamped on one surface with flower/sun shapes. The handle is covered with light coloured fur that is stitched together and bound in two places with leather. It has an iron loop at the butt. The sheath is made from leather with a darker, tortoise shell like fur chape. Above the chape is bound with woven leather strips and the mouth is decorated with incised lines. The belt is made of lengths of ?straw covered with leather and stitched along the edge. [SM 02/07/2007]
