- Long description
- Piece of barkcloth. The cloth has been mounted (possibly glued) onto a piece of plywood and framed with a dark stained wood frame. The barkcloth is decorated all over. There is a central circular pattern. The smallest circle in the centre of the barkcloth is approximately 77 mm in diameter. The circular designs expand outwards to the largest which is approximately 955 mm in diameter. The circular designs are inside a large rectangle. At each corner the rectangle is dissected by a band of designs with geometrical and human face designs. In each corner of the rectangle there is a part starburst design. There are two additional part starburst designs, one in the centre top and one in the centre bottom. All four sides of the barkcloth have been decorated with a border approximately 140mm wide covered in geometrical designs. The whole is decorated with designs in white, dark reddish brown and black.
