Research and responses

The 11935 number suggests that this is a EH Man object [AP Leverhulme project on founding collection 1995-1998]

This object was found during the DCF "What's Upstairs?" project along with another bamboo knife and three other cane knives. Due to discrepancies in the labelling of the objects and their descriptions in the Delivery Catalogue and Accession entries, it was difficult to assign the right 5 numbers to the 5 knives. For reference, the bamboo knives have been given the numbers 1884.140.885 and 1884.140.886, and the cane knives have been given the numbers 1884.33.5, 1884.33.6 and 1884.33.7. This decision was reached by Alison Petch and Eleanor Cooper [4/4/2006].
