Description
Purse or small bag in red silk with embroidery. [MJD 25/05/2010]
Long description
Purse or small bag. The front of the object is covered in red silk textile and edged in green and green and white silk yarn embroidery. The upper section of the front has been embroidered with a Chinese character in blue silk yarn edged with white yarn. Below the upper section is a a flap of silk, reinforced with ?cardboard or paper. This flap covers the opening of the purse. The front of the flap is of red silk edged with green silk yarn embroidery. It has been decorated with floral embroidery and sequins. The back of the flap is lined with blue / grey silk textile. Below this is the main body of the purse. The front of which has also been embroidered with floral motifs and sequins, and which has been lined with blue / grey silk textile and chequered silk textile. This section of the purse has been edged with green and white silk yarn embroidery. The back of the purse has been covered with black and red silk brocade. This is in very poor condition.
