Description
Embroidered patchwork child's collar.
Long description
Child's collar. The collar is roughly square with scalloped edges. The main body of the collar is made of pieces of patchwork printed cotton textiles. The patches are printed with floral and geometric designs. Four sections of silk have been set into the patchwork at the four corners of the square. These sections are blue, red, white and purple and have been embroidered with floral designs. The purple section has also been embroidered with a figure. The neck hole of the collar is circular. The collar and neck hole are edged with blue silk. The collar is fastened by two blue ties and a blue silk knot and loop. Between the edging and the patchwork there are three bands of ribbon which have been appliqued to the front of the collar. The collar is backed with bright red cotton textile. [MdeA 21/11/2005]
