Research and responses

The links between what is given in the accession books as JE Philipps [mostly] and JET Philipps is given in the donor card catalogue as is the possible link between him and Tracy Philipps (though the person who added the link questioned it). There does not appear to be a great deal of evidence to support this, the two donations are 13 years apart and one lot is from Rwanda and the other Tanzania, however it is possible that someone working for the Colonial Service would serve in both places, and 13 years is certainly possible as a career gap. The possibility remains unproven and I have therefore separated out the two names, but it is possible that they are linked and this possibility should be borne in mind by future researchers [AP 5/9/2002]
