Long description
Each cardboard box contains a figure or figures depicting scenes from each festival. The figures is modelled from coloured paper and painted. Each figure is mounted on a square by means of small metal nails. Within each box is a white piece of paper describing each fesitval in English and a green piece of paper with Japanese writing.

Kagami mochi is a glutinous rice cake offered to Toshigamisama, the deity of the New Year. The offering is typically prepared at the end of the previous year. The tradition of displaying two mounds of mochi topped with a bitter orange is believed to have begun in the 14th century.
