Research and responses

Observations provided by research visitors from Wales and Kotzebue Sound, Alaska. 23.1.2008. This net is rare as it is made of baleen. The baleen would have been soaked to make it malleable enough to make a net. Gauges were used to make the holes the correct size for the fish that would be caught. This information was provided by research visitors from Wales and Kotzebue Sound, Alaska. 23.1.2008 [SM 24/01/2008]
