Description
Wooden hand cross.
Long description
The head of the cross is diamond-shaped and composed of four smaller interlocking diamonds carved in relief so as to appear to be 'woven' from single intertwining band. The handle is straight an carved with two parallel rows of jagged lines on one side, and an intertwing band/ twisted rope pattern in the other . At the base of the handle is a flat square, carved on one side with an intertwined cross and on the other with a "St. George" cross. Directly below the square is a diamond-shaped projection, also carved differently on either side with a cross motif. [JP 29/4/2004]
