Description
Dark blue rectangular textile covered with embroidered geometric patterns and motifs in brightly coloured wool. [JP 19/4/2004]
Long description
The base of the textile consists of black warp threads and dark blue wefts with a fringe of warp threads at either end about 25 mm long. In the centre of the textile a rectangular panel has been embroidered with a diagonal grid in red wool. Inside the diamond-shaped segments of this grid are embroidered small circles forming another diamond shape. The circles either alternate between blue, white, and pink, or orange, green, and red. Some of the circles in each segment are joined by either a straight or bent line. The perimeter of this central panel is framed with a border of squares, each composed of two triangles of different colours. This is in turn framed with a final border of multicoloured swastikas.
