Description
Snuff bottle [.1] and stopper [.2]. [DCF Court Team 24/2/2004]
Long description
Snuff bottle [.1] and stopper [.2]. Please note that although the information written on the object calls it a 'snuff-box' the object is more bottle-like in shape. The main body of the box or bottle is made from ?animal horn, the lower part of which has been covered in leather. The upper part has been bound with copper wire. The middle of the box and the stopper are decorated with pale blue and dark blue beads. Below the beads on the box is a chain fringe and chains to carry the snuff box. There is a chain attached to the stopper. This is broken but presumably once fixed the stopper to the box. [DCF Court Team 24/2/2004]
