Description
Domed and fluted lid. For container see [2003.11.6 .1]. [JC [OPS move] 12/7/2016]
Long description
Domed copper lid for container (2003.11.6 1) plated with tin. The tip of the lid is pointed with a ridged circle around it. Then there are ridged lines leading away from the tip, down the sides to a ridge that encircles the whole lid. The remaining band of metal is plain. The lid fits over the rim of the container (2003.11.6 .1) quite tightly. Where the metal has become worn, the tin has disappeared and the copper can be seen. The lid is slightly tarnished.
