Description
Camel saddle tree. [RJ 6/3/2003]
Long description
Camel saddle tree made of light wood. Placed under the saddle blanket and used to anchor all the straps. Two inverted 'v' shapes of wood made out of two pieces of wood which fit together at the tips. The two inverted 'v' shapes are bound together at their tips with green commercial string so that together they form a four- footed stand in the shape of a pyramid . The feet of the saddle tree are thinner and wider than the tips. There are two pegs with poined ends slotted into grooves carved into the side of the stand near the tip. The string for binding the saddle tree together is anchored around these. The outside face of the wood has been decorated with symmetrical patterns of triangles, circles and lines carved into it.
