Description
Round bowl, engraved with bands of floral designs, lozenges and chevrons. [JC [OPS move] 12/7/2016]
Long description
Round tin bowl. The base is rounded with a circle in the centre beaten into the vessel so that the circle from the base appears concave. There are floral and symmetrical engravings around the whole bowl although some have become faint and polished. The inside of the bowl is plain. The bowl was possibly once a spouted vessel, as it looks as if a U-shaped piece of metal has been welded into the side to replace a hole left by a spout. The pattern etched onto this area is much cruder and there is a split in the metal with bolts welded into it. The vessel is slightly tarnished. [RJ 10/3/2003]
