TLATLAUQIE = hieroglyph of Totonac place, c.f. ANALE DEL MUSEO NACIONAL, Vol. VII, 49-76. Also in Codex Mendoza, tribute roll. TLATLAUQUI = ‘lugar de los bermejos' or ‘place of the red worm' (i.e. cochineal). Cochineal was sold in the market at Tlatlauqui: this was verified in 1935.
