Research and responses

This object was examined by Professor Rosemary Joyce during a visit to Oxford in December 2010. She noted that it is common for people to reassign Casa Grande Ruin material to Casas Grandes, but this is incorrect. There is a Casa Grande Ruin in Arizona and this ceramic is diagnostic of pottery from this area, both in terms of its shape and the complexity of design which is different from pottery found at Casas Grandesa. [AS 02/12/2010]

The re-assignation by [Jesse L.?] Nusbaum is incorrect: this object is from Arizona, not from Mexico. See research notes below. [Dan Hicks 29/08/2012]
