- cut out of the solid with a leather strap nailed to the sides to form a loop to go over the foot. This band has a silver pattern of a border along the edges and a design down the centre A block is cut out under the instep leaving a wedge at toe and heel - the toe is rounded and the sole cut away under it sloaping [sic] under the foot, the back of the heel slopes slightly inwards.
