In his book The Faroes and Iceland (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1905), Annandale describes Tórshavn as being on the east coast opposite Naalsoe (or Needle Isle). This would seem to suggest that Naalsoe is the island now referred to as Nólsoy. [CW 15/12/99]
For the donor's account of his visit to Føroyar [the Faroe Islands], see The Faroes and Iceland: Studies in Island Life, by Thomas Annandale (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1905). [JC 4 12 2014]
