Long description
Model of post commemorating mithan sacrifice with forked top section, and stylised mithan head above further carved designs. The post is carved of light wood. The top is forked. Both sections are carved with a section of vertical and horizontal lines. Beneath this is a carved circle with carved zigzag design next to it on the outer edge. Below this is a carved stylised mithan head with concentric carved semi circles on either side below the head. This is followed by a band of vertical lines, then a band of zigzag lines, then vertical projections that are triangular in section. Below this is carved with six projections that point down. The base of the post is narrower than the body. There are some traces of black pigment in the carved designs. [SM (Verve) 25/09/2013]
