On pp. 8-9, Walker notes that "Axes are of two kinds. In one the edge of the blade is inserted by a tang into the handle [insert] Phasrok [end insert]... In the other kind the blade increases in thickness from the edge till at its base it forms a ring 1 3/4" in diameter into which a handle is inserted, the head of the handle being split by a wedge to keep it firm [insert] Nagap [end insert]."
