- Long description
- Copper toilet set comprising ear scoop [.1], tooth pick [.2] and nail cleaner [.3] with top loop of brass [.4]. The tools are fastened together by a copper pin which passes through the non-functioning ends of each and through either side of the brass loop. The pin has then been hammered to create a burr, which secures the tools in place. This pin acts as a pivot about which the implements may be swung depending on which tool is required. The tools are incised with decorative geometric patterns; the nail cleaner has a pair of zigzagging lines which run down the length of the tool, the tooth pick (between nail cleaner and ear scoop) has a similar double line zigzag pattern but with the addition of stamped or incised circles on all the points of the zigzag. The ear scoop is embellished with a pair of parallel lines running down its length and short, closely packed diagonal lines running all around the edges, rather like hatching. [LKG 16/07/2009]
