A letter in the Archive, Tylor correspondence C6, from Chamberlain to Tylor dated 1 April 1885, lists a series of Japanese games sent to Tylor. This includes a "Go board and 2 boxes counters". Most of the items on this list are part of the Tylor special collection [1917.53. ] but this one is not. It would seem that this is the Go board & counters originally collected by Chamberlain and sent to Tylor in April 1885.
