Long description
Chief's head ornament of black bear's fur with hornbill feathers. The head ring is made of cane with bear fur bound onto it so that it projects outwards from the cane. The heads ring ends were joined by string so that the size could be adjusted. There are three hornbill feathers projecting up from the ring. Each has a small piece of bamboo threaded onto the end nearest the ring. [SM 11/05/2007]
