- Wooden dao carrier with belt decorated with buttons, tassels and brass rings. [El.B 1/3/2007]
- Long description
- The dao carrier is of wood in block form, with a central slit for the dao and openings for the belt. It incised with circle-and-dot and cross-hatched triangle designs, with two converging cross-hatched stripes on each side. The belt is of blue cloth, with red chevron designs and two yellow zigzag lines in the middle on one side. It has two short flaps of the same fabric hanging down, with long tassels wound with red yarn and decorated with yellow orchid stem and brass rings. Two lines of white buttons are on the belt and one row across the flaps. One end of the belt is stuck through an opening on the short side of the dao carrier and fastened there. On the other end is a wire loop which can be stuck through the opposite opening and fastened over a small wooden peg. [El.B 1/3/2007]
