Long description
Pottery lamp of buff ware with remnants of yellow slip. Ovoid lamp with flat bottom, expanding sides to shoulder and slightly convex sides over the body. There is a rounded rim around the filling hole, around which is a channel. The sides of the lamp are adorned with a partially legible ?Greek inscription in relief. The wick nozzle is decorated with a raised ridge the length of the nozzle with diagonal raised lines radiating from it representing a palm leaf. [MOBB [OPS move] 18/10/2016]
