- Long description
- Painted pottery lamp of red ware atop a stand. The lamp is pointed ovoid with high cylindrical rim around the filling hole which is perforated over the point. The body is painted cream with black bands around the rim, the shoulder and the point where it attaches to the stand. The stand has a circular expanded foot leading to a hollow, cylindrical section with a circular aperture, topped by a flat top. From the centre of the this circular section a flat square, with a circular perforation, projects atop which sits the lamp. The stand is painted with red edging and bands with white or cream spots. There are also black bands, spots and geometric patterning. On the back a handle connects the lamp to the cylindrical pillar. [MOBB [OPS move] 6/12/2016]
