The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2010 as: (Right) “Gotoba tenno gyosei”, a poem made by Emperor Gotoba (1180-1239). The poem was made when he visited Nachi waterfall on a winter day.. “Nihon daiichi Kumano Fusumi jinja ryakuzu”, panorama of Kumano Fusumi shrine.
