Information given by Professor Itaru Chijiwa, Assistant Professor Seiji Hoshino (both from Kokugakuin University) and Norifumi Shimazu (Association of Shinto Shrines) during a research visit, November 2009. Pamphlet / guide type of information for visitors to shrine. [El.B 20/01/2010]

The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2010 as: (Right)"Sagami no kuni Ashigara shimo gun Motohakone mura Hakone jinja hoki”, Treasures of Hakone shrine. (Flute) “Yoritomo ko kifu tobue Yoshitsune tsuneni tazusaeru to iitsutau”, A flute given by Yoritomo. It is said that Yoshitsune always carried it with him. (Pots) Right; it has been kept at the shrine for 632 years from Bunei 5 to Meiji 22. Left; it has been kept at the shrine for 616 years from Koan 6 to Meiji 22. (Swords) “Soga Juro adauchi tachi”, a sword used for revenge by Juro Soga
