- Horned memorial figure [.1] (female) clothed and carrying two baskets, one [.2] is attached via a stick [.3]. The arms are carved from separate pieces of wood that have been attached to the body with wooden pegs. They are bent up at the elbow with the palms open. The figure does not have carved legs. The figure has painted hair and facial decoration. The eyes are made from spherical black seeds or nut husks. Both ears are pierced. The figure has two bands of woven textiles on the body. The upper band is light and dark blue. The lower band (skirt) is white, dark blue and brown stripes. The figure has two square-based baskets, both made of cane strips. One is tied to the figures right hand with a cane strip loop. The other [.2] is tied to a cane stick [.3] and then tucked into the figure's skirt. A cane frame is tied across the figure's body. It goes over the upper band of textiles, but inside the skirt. A short cane stick is tied to the lower section of the figure with cane strips. [SM (Verve) 18/04/2013]
