This object was examined by Professor Itaru Chijiwa during his research visit in November 2008. In his opinion the object may be from Lafadio Hearn, as it was collected from Nishikiyama-jinja in Kumamoto, where Hearn lived. The shrine was also known as Seishoko and was renamed in 1909 to Kato-jinja. Kato Kiyomasa was a famous Samurai [SM 14/11/2008]
