Long description
Oil painting in gilt frame of a spacious interior with tall deep red pillars. A man, woman and child stand in the foreground. The figures stand before steps leading into the building. The man wears a red brown skirt robe and a brown flecked orange coat. He holds a long pipe and wears a black hat. The woman wears a long grey coat over a red robe. She holds a fan. The small child is dressed in blue robes with red shoes. On either side of the pillared entrance, bright red, ornate railings have been painted. At the centre of the painting, the far interior of the building has been shown as a simple wooden table and three wooden benches on a raised platform. Three blue vessels stand on the table. The pillars are supported by white coloured bases. Some of the gold paint on the frame has chipped away around the bottom mouldings. [LKG 26/11/2009]
