Long description
Currency, coin. Brown metal coin, with stamped design on one side edged by a flat flange. On this side the design on the coin is of a long curved central line with three rings to one side. On its reverse side the coin bears a design of raised lines, with a distinct curved pattern around a dot on one side of the central line. [LKG 20/01/2010]

Research and responses

Pitt Rivers was in Brittany at the end of 1878 and beginning of 1879 and staying in France throughout this period. Some items were also purchased at the Paris Exposition Universelle, it is possible that this is one of them.
