Research and responses

This object was examine by Dr Zena Kamash as part of the Fell funded project Characterizing the World Archaeology Collections. She noted that this object is not Roman, but rather Iron Age. It is very similar to examples in the Morel Collection of Iron Age material from Champagne in the British Museum. See Stead, I.M. and Rigby, V. 1999: The Morel Collection: Iron Age antiquities from Champagne in the British Museum (London), fig 101, nos 1559, 2080 and 2062. [AS 14/02/2011]
