1932.88.1112Circular collapsible lantern with brass top and base and textile body. The top is decorated with perforated bands of diamond shapes and bands of brass with incised bands. The perforations of the lid are organised into a sun shape. The lid is a raised circle with a round knob which slides open. The base is decorated with more perforated bands of diamonds an a large incised flower in the centre. The interior of the base has a cylindrical candle socket with a curved handle at the side all set within a metal saucer. The base and top are held closed with a piece of string strung through two small metal wire loops and then knotted. The lantern sides are concertinaed inside the lantern.
