Long description
Black ware pottery vessel (oinochoe) with a flat base, rounded body and an inverted neck with a flared rim. There is a handle attached to the rim and the shoulder. Decorated with a continuous fret pattern on the body of the piece in an orange colour. Slipped surface. [ASh [OPS move] 27/04/2016]

Research and responses

This object was examined by Drs Yannis Galanakis and Stella Skaltsa as part of the Fell funded project Characterizing the World Archaeology Collections. They described this vessel as a small oinochoe, a type of vessel related to drinking. They dated it to the fourth century BC. [AS 06/01/2011]
