Research and responses

In the summer of 1879 Pitt Rivers travelled to Denmark with Rolleston to view archaeological sites and objects, this object may have been obtained then. Note that in vol 1 of the Pitt Rivers Catalogues of the Farnham Museum currently housed in the Cambridge University Library Manuscripts room, there is mention of items obtained from Sweden in May 1879 [AP Leverhulme project on founding collection 1995-1998]
