Research and responses

Please note that there seems to be a discrepancy between the date of collection in the Accession volume and the object label, between 1825 and 1845. It seems likely that 1848 is the year in which Wood gave the object to Pitt Rivers, making 1845 a more likely collection date? [DCF Court Team 22/9/2003]

Given John G. Wood's dates (21 July 1827 – 3 March 1889) it's likely that 1825 was a mistake and 1845 is the right date for his acquiring this object. [Dan Hicks 8/3/2017]
